Changing the Way We Breathe

December 23, 2020

During a year where we have all become keen on clean, our skilled nursing facility has been looking into numerous ways to keep our building safe and all of our residents and staff healthy. While we have been strictly following all standard protocol, we knew more preventative measures would be extremely beneficial to the well-being of everyone in our facility.

To decrease the spread of airborne illnesses and to enhance the overall quality of the air within our facility, Mill Creek has invested in four new BSE BA-1000 machines. These machines utilize Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization (NPBI) technology to safely clean the air inside, combating viruses such as Covid-19.

How it Works:
NPBI technology uses an electronic charge to create a plasma field filled with a high concentration of positively and negatively charged ions that replicate those commonly found in nature. It then actively treats air by flooding a room with these ions at the time areas are occupied. As the ions travel with the air stream they attach to particles, pathogens and gases/odors. When the ions attach to airborne particles (including fine, sub-micron particles) they polorize the particles, attracting them to each other, forming clusters and making it easier to filter these particles out of the air. Ions also deactivate pathogens like viruses, by robbing them of life-sustaining hydrogen.

We will be strategically installing these new machines throughout our facility in order to best optimize their effects. The cleaner quality of air that we will obtain as a result of our new BSE BA-1000's will help us stop the spread of Covid-19 and will enhance the lifestyle of our residents.

Mill Creek strives to create a “Culture of Care” within our facility and our community and continues to do everything in our power to provide our residents with the best quality of life possible.
