Celebrating 66 Years!
June 25, 2021
Happy 66th Wedding Anniversary to one of our residents and his spouse!! Bernard and Fran were in the same Social Dancing class at Fairmont State University in West Virginia. Bernard, also known as Jeep to many, made the first move and asked Fran to teach him how to dance. Jeep already knew how to dance but was interested in courting Fran. This led to their wonderful courtship of 2 years. On June 25th, 1955, Jeep and Fran were married in the town of Fairmont, West Virginia.
The couple has been blessed with five children: Bill, Sue, Jeff, Kim, and Kathy. They have 8 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.
Fran and Jeep both worked in education. Fran taught Kindergarten for 34 years and Bernard taught Industrial Arts to Junior High and High School students. He offered a class to senior girls called Hobby Woods. The girls made hope chests with his guidance. Jeep enjoyed coaching football and teaching Driver’s Education.
Some advice given by the couple on a happy marriage is:
“Talk everything over.”
“Never spend a whole day mad at one another.”
“Work hard and work together.”
“Trust in the Lord.”
Please join us in wishing this beautiful couple a Happy 66th Anniversary! What a blessing! They are what we all strive to have one day!
