A Heartfelt Letter to Our Staff
January 16, 2023
All of us at Mill Creek are so humbled to receive a letter like this from a recent family. It touches our hearts to feel the true impact our care has on residents and families alike. We know that finding a long-term care facility or rehabilitation center can be difficult, and we thank you for entrusting us with your care.
"From when I first arrived, I was impressed by the caring concern shown by nurses, Stacy, Melissa, and Chrissy. At that point, I was feeling very overwhelmed and they gave me time to settle in with my family. After my family left, the nurses started caring for me to make sure I was comfortable. I can truthfully say all of the staff I have interacted with seemed sincerely interested in my comfort and well-being. I appreciate Amanda, the Administrator, for sharing her special wall hanging in my room while I was here, Pam for her caring methods of helping me with my first “handicapped” shower, as a very shy patient, Cory for his upbeat, happy attitude, Kathy and Jaynee in therapy for doing a great job in encouraging but keeping a close watch that I didn’t push my limits too far, and lastly, a big thank you to all the staff who offered words of encouragement and telling me they were seeing improvements even when I couldn’t feel anything but the hurt.
They let me know they were communicating with Dr. Foster and Dr. Wood, reporting my progress and following their directions for medical care. The janitorial staff did a great job of keeping the building clean and well-maintained. Last, but definitely not least, is the food service for offering a great variety of delicious food options. The hot foods were served hot and the cold items were served cold. For each of the three meals per day, patients had a choice of either the regular menu offered or alternative foods so they could create their own meals. I highly recommend Mill Creek to anyone in need of their services.
'What if you woke up tomorrow with only the things you thanked God for today?'
I read this similar statement in “The Amish Cook” article in the Mansfield News Journal last summer. It really stuck with me, then to see it the first full day I was here, to me that was just a reminder from God that this was where he wanted me to be for a few days."
